Cascade School District will be holding screenings for preschool age children on August 28th and 29th, 30th 2018.  This screening is for all children who are 3, 4, or 5 years of age and not enrolled in Kindergarten.

These screenings look at areas of child development in order to evaluate the need for enrollment in the Special Needs Preschool that is offered by the district.  Appointments need to be made through the school office which can be reached at 208-630-6057.  Each appointment will be about half an hour and parents need to stay on premises with their child.

The Cascade School District Preschool is a developmental preschool for three, four, and five-year-olds.  Children must demonstrate delays in one or more of five developmental categories.  A full-time Early Childhood Special Education certified teacher and support staff will determine eligibility according to public law.  Screenings to determine eligibility are advertised and are also provided at any parent request.  Developmentally appropriate curriculum will be provided to help each child improve skills in receptive/expressive language, cognitive abilities, gross/fine motor functioning, social/emotional development or self-help functioning.
