The special needs preschool is a program that targets children, ages 3-5, who have developmental delays or disabilities. Screenings of children can be done at any time during the year, but mass screenings are held on the first day of elementary school. Once the screenings are done, additional testing is scheduled for children that display areas of concern. If those test scores meet the state requirements for the disability, children will then be enrolled in the preschool program.
IEPs (Individual Education Plans) are written for each child that qualifies and are used to direct instruction for that child throughout the year.
