Grade Level/Classes Taught: Elementary Paraprofessional & Yearbook Advisor

# of years in Education: 8 months

In Cascade: 3 yrs

I was born in Vallejo California in 1979. Raised and lived in the Bay Area ( Just north of San Francisco). I graduated from Antioch High School in 1998. My first job was at The Antioch Police department with animal control in their Animal shelter. After a year working there I got a job with the vet that came to check on the animals. I worked for Well Pet Vet Clinic for 8 years. In June of 2004 I was blessed with my daughter.  March of 2005 I was married to Isabels dad Craig. In 2007 I decided to go back to school. I graduated from Western Career College with my Medical Assistant Degree in 2008. I went to work at a Dr’s office and also took care of my father at home while he battled and lost his fight with cancer in 2008. In 2011 I was widowed when I lost my husband to multiple organ failure. My daughter was only 7 years old. It changed my life forever. After that I took time off working for a few years to be with my daughter and help in her class room. In 2013 we moved to Boise Idaho. Also in 2013 I meet Noah, a wonderful man. After camping up in Cascade Idaho we decided to call it home. October of 2016 I bought my home. In 2017 when registering my daughter for school I was talking to Joni about our summer and how I entered photos in the Valley Country Fair and how I love taking photos. Joni was telling me that they didn't know what they were going to do with the yearbook …. So I volunteered.  In January of 2018 I was offered a position as an Elementary Paraprofessional. I used to tell my daughter all the time …”I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up” , But I can truly say I have found my calling. I get to go to work every day and do two things I love, taking photos and helping others.

Hopes for the upcoming school year:

My hopes for this year is for our school family to get closer and that the kids know we do really care about them all!!!

My Why:

My daughter has had wonderful help with her learning problems over the years and now I get to help other children with their needs.
