Students will prepare themselves for high school by mastering punctuation, recognizing sentences structure, and determining correct usage. Daily Oral Language exercises will help facilitate this goal.
Students will continue to develop as writers by writing a variety of written works such as responses to literature, reflective essays, descriptive writing, and poetry. Students will write a rough draft every two weeks and turn in a final draft every two weeks, alternately. Late rough drafts may not be proofed due to time constraints.
Listening and Speaking
Students will practice informal presentations during the school year. Students are expected to be engaged in class discussions.
