PAST REPERTOIRE |
The Jazz Band consists of students in 7th
through 12th grade with prior music experience. This group meets
once a week from 3:30pm-5:00pm starting the first week of February. The purpose of this ensemble is to take elements
learned from Concert Band and to develop musical independence through
knowledge of styles and performance technique of varied contemporary and jazz
literature. The content will include but not be limited to, production of
characteristic tone, interpretation of jazz rhythms and articulations,
performance of literature from various popular and jazz styles, and
improvisation techniques. |
