| | Message from the Principal – Mr. SilzlyHello Ramblers Families,
We’ve officially entered the “blink-and-you-miss-it” stretch of the school year—where backpacks get heavier, schedules get busier, and excitement is off the charts (right alongside our energy drink intake).
Here’s a look at some of the action-packed events coming up this week: 🧮 Monday, May 19 – We’re kicking things off with a District Budget Workshop from 5:00–6:30pm. It might not have popcorn or halftime entertainment, but it’s a vital part of planning for our students' success. 🎓 Tuesday, May 20 – Our 8th graders will take their first official step toward high school life during Step Up to High School Night, 5:00–7:00pm. Cue the lockers, life lessons, and slightly taller expectations. 🐮 Wednesday, May 21 – It’s a trifecta of activity! -
Mrs. Kushlan’s class will venture out to Eagle’s Nest and Horsethief Reservoir for hands-on learning in the great outdoors. -
At 5:00pm, Cross Country parents and athletes will gather for a quick informational meeting (just long enough to cover the essentials without needing a water station). -
And at 5:30pm, we’ll tip our hats to our hardworking student leaders at the FFA Banquet—a night full of celebration, recognition, and probably a few proud tears. 🌲 Thursday, May 22 – Our K-2 students are going wild—literally! They’ll be heading to the Zoo for a day of animal encounters, curiosity, and probably a few extra snacks. Don’t forget the sunscreen, sturdy shoes, and maybe a gentle reminder that we are not allowed to bring a lemur home.
And now, your Principal Dad Joke of the Week: Why did the student bring a ladder to school? Because they wanted to go to high school! 🎓😄
Thanks for being part of all the fun, learning, and laughter. Let’s keep showing up for each other and finish the year strong!

Thank you! | | | Understanding Your Child’s Learning StyleEvery child has a unique way of learning, and understanding your child’s learning style can make a big difference in their success. Some children may learn best by seeing (visual learners), while others might prefer to hear (auditory learners) or do (kinesthetic learners). By identifying your child’s strengths, you can support their learning at home by using strategies that match their preferred style.

Thank you for being a part of this important work and for your continued support of Cascade Schools! | | Honoring Our Cascade School Board MembersWe want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Cascade School Board for their unwavering commitment to our students, staff, and community. On May 14, they took time away from their own families and professional responsibilities to attend the Idaho School Boards Association Leadership Institute—a training designed to help board members grow in communication, superintendent evaluation, and community engagement.
This kind of professional learning isn’t required—but they showed up anyway. Why? Because they care deeply about doing their job well and making decisions that reflect what’s best for our kids and our district.
Thank you, Trustees, for your time, your thoughtful service, and your willingness to learn on behalf of Cascade.
