Athletes of the Week by Finley Wilkins
Freshman Charlotte Dunn competed in the 2A State Championships in Middleton where she was able to take the 8th place spot and earned the Rambler's points. Charlotte high jumped a height of 4'10, which tied her PR. As this was the last meet of the season, she left it all out there on the track. Congratulations to Charlotte Dunn on Athlete of the Week!
Sophomore Garrett Rogers made an astounding impression in the 2A State Championships, which took place in Middleton. Garrett jumped an impressive 6 feet and 2 inches in the high jump, where he took the gold medal for first place. He was also able to compete in the 400 meters, where he placed 9th out of 16, barely missing finals. Congratulations to Garrett Rogers on Athlete of the Week!

Here is another great basketball camp opportunity for those student athletes who would like to improve on their skills! This is the 3rd annual "Go Get It" Basketball Camp. The camp is open to boys and girls. It serves as a fundraiser for the Boys' Basketball program's summer-ball schedule. This will be coached by Cascade's Varsity Boys Basketball Coach Josh Hurley and some of his team.
Coach Hurley and his coaching team have taken teams to the State Tournament the last 4 years in a row and have been named Long Pin Coach of the Year 3 of the last 4 years. Kids who enroll are certain to learn valuable skills at their level which they can build on over the summer!
All participants will receive a t-shirt in their size.
Don't wait! The sign-up deadline is coming up soon so shirts can get ordered.

Smokey came to visit Kindergarten and First Grade today!

Our young learners from kindergarten and first grade got a visit from Forest Service employees, Kim and Smokey the Bear himself! Kim shared Smokey's story and how he became the icon he is today, as well as why he has such strong feelings about wildfires.
Smokey shared these 5 rules with our classes:
1) Only you can prevent wildfires.
2) Always be careful with fire.
3) Never play with matches or lighters.
4) Always watch your fire.
5) Make sure your fire is always completely out.
Smokey and Kim then took questions from the students before we headed back to the classroom.
Thanks again Smokey and Kim!
